The Executive Committee of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (ECGSAS) assumes continuous responsibility on behalf of the Graduate School for the general educational policies of the University, the quality of instruction, and the quality of the teaching. It reviews all matters affecting the general welfare of the faculty members and the students of the Graduate School, and considers matters of general concern brought to the attention of members of the Committee by faculty members or students. Proposed changes in the degree requirements, regulations, and procedures of the Graduate School are acted upon by the Executive Committee, on behalf of the Faculty of the School.
