No advanced standing is granted toward a free-standing Master of Arts degree for courses taken outside Columbia University. A list of free-standing M.A. programs is given in Listing of Degree and Other Academic Programs of the Graduate School or Arts and Sciences in section III. Students may be eligible for partial advanced standing with the approval of the faculty for graduate-level course work (4000 level and above) taken in other divisions of the University only.
