Ph.D. Degrees

If you plan to receive your Ph.D. at the October 21, 2009 conferral:

• Page 1 of the Defense Application must be submitted BY THE STUDENT to the Dissertation Office by Friday, July 31, 2009.

• Page 2 of the Defense Application must be submitted BY THE DEPARTMENT OR PROGRAM to the Dissertation Office by Friday, August 28, 2009.

• YOUR DEPOSIT must be completed by 4pm on Friday, October 16, 2009

 

If you plan to receive your Ph.D. at the February 10, 2010 conferral:

• Page 1 of the Defense Application must be submitted BY THE STUDENT to the Dissertation Office by Friday, November 6, 2009.

• Page 2 of the Defense Application must be submitted BY THE DEPARTMENT OR PROGRAM to the Dissertation Office by Friday, December 4, 2009.

• YOUR DEPOSIT must be completed by 4pm on Friday, February 5, 2010.

 

If you plan to receive your Ph.D. at the May 18, 2010 conferral:

• Page 1 of the Defense Application must be submitted BY THE STUDENT to the Dissertation Office by Friday, January 29, 2010.

• Page 2 of the Defense Application must be submitted BY THE DEPARTMENT OR PROGRAM to the Dissertation Office by Friday, March 26, 2010.

• IF YOU WANT YOUR NAME IN THE CONVOCATION BOOKLET, your deposit must be completed by 4pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.

• IF YOU WANT YOUR NAME IN THE BOOKLET ADDENDUM, your deposit must be completed by 4pm on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.

• THE FINAL DEPOSIT DATE FOR MAY is 4pm on Thursday, May 13, 2010.  The names of any students who complete their deposit after May 12 will be included in the 2011 Convocation Booklet.

M.Phil. Degrees

Candidates who have completed all the necessary requirements apply through their departments in order to receive the Master of Philosophy degree. Applications for the M.Phil. can be filed at any point in the calendar year. Degrees are conferred three times during the academic year—in October, February, and May. Students who are only receiving an M.Phil.  do not participate in Convocation and Commencement ceremonies.  

If you plan to receive your M.Phil. at the October 21, 2009 conferral:

• The M.Phil. application must be submitted BY THE DEPARTMENT OR PROGRAM to the Dissertation Office by Friday, October 2, 2009.  

If you plan to receive your M.Phil. at the February 10, 2010 conferral:

• The M.Phil. application must be submitted BY THE DEPARTMENT OR PROGRAM to the Dissertation Office by Friday, January 29, 2010.  

If you plan to receive your M.Phil. at the May 18, 2010 conferral:

• The M.Phil. application must be submitted BY THE DEPARTMENT OR PROGRAM to the Dissertation Office by Friday, April 30, 2010.
