Students work together in a mentor/mentee relationship and use art as a medium to work together and build relationships and skills. The program is currently looking for 2 student coordinators to be the leaders of the group and at least 8-10 mentors.
Before you think "Oh, this isn't for me!" or "I don't like kids!" or "I really stink at art, I couldn't do that!", please at least THINK about it. Consider: 1. Remember being a kid and wanting someone older to pay attention to you? Give back by spending some one on one time with a kid who is struggling with the same things you struggle with! You will learn so much from each other! 2. You don't have to be an artist. You don't even have to LIKE art. The kids are the ones doing the projects--all you have to do is guide them and be there for them. They look up to you. 3. Still not convinced? Think of it this way: It builds your resume. Future employers love to see resumes full of volunteer and leadership experience! If you are interested and want more information, please email student coordinators Tom Reed at thr2103@columbia.edu or Lauren Bigg at lmb2133@columbia.edu, or ODS Coordinator Jenna Cler at jjc2161@columbia.edu. To learn more about the organization, please visit the Project Eye to Eye website. Health Services at Columbia Is On the Move!

The ODS office will be closed on Thursday, August 21, and Friday, August 22, and will reopen in their new location on the 7th floor of Lerner Hall on Monday, August 25.
