Janice O. Bennett

Dr. Janice Bennett joined Health Services at Columbia in 1997. She became Director of the Postdoctoral Fellowship program in College Mental Health in 2002. Before coming to HSC, Janice was the Coordinator of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

She earned her B.A. at the State University of New York at New Paltz and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from New York University. She completed an internship in clinical psychology at Montefiore Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She went on to further advanced training at New York University’s Postdoctoral Program, earning a certificate in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.

Janice’s professional interests include cultural studies and the psychology of race and gender. 

She is a consultant to the Sophie Davis Biomedical program of The City University of New York and is a frequent speaker at professional meetings and community events.
