Primary Care Medical Services

Schedule an Appointment Online

All of our students have Primary Care providers that are here to help you. To find out who your primary care provider is, you can log on to Open Communicator and click on "profile" or you can check when you call to schedule an appointment.

You can also schedule appointments or change your PCP using Open Communicator as well.

During Scheduled Clinical Hours

Primary Care Medical Services (PCMS) is organized into three practice groups to provide accessible and well-coordinated care: Amsterdam, Broadway, and Morningside (all three are located within the same facility). Appointments are strongly encouraged so that we may be sensitive to your time constraints, and can be made by calling 212 854 7426.

If you have already chosen a provider or practice group , please let the person scheduling your appointment know. It is also helpful if you provide basic information about the reason for your intended visit (stomach pains, headache, travel assessment, pregnancy screening, prescription refill). We will work with you to arrange an appointment with your regular provider or with another clinician in your practice group. If you have not yet selected a practice group, or would like to change into another practice group, we can easily accommodate your requests when you call to make an appointment.

For acute illness or injury, students can also be seen on a walk-in basis in the Urgent Care Center during PCMS scheduled clinical hours.

After Hours Urgent Situations and Emergencies

If the situation is urgent after scheduled clinical hours, please call the clinician-on-call at 212 854 9797. In the event of a medical emergency, you may also contact your nearest emergency room. The emergency room nearest the Morningside Heights campus is the St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Emergency Room . These resources are equipped to assist with emergencies. Once the immediate crisis is resolved, PCMS is available to provide a wide range of counseling services.
