Looking to prevent the flu this year? The flu shot is coming to campus at no cost to you. As a service to the University community, Health Services at Columbia will be holding
free
“Flu Shot Fairs” this fall for all students, faculty and staff interested in receiving the vaccine. No appointment necessary!

Anyone who wants to reduce their chance of getting the flu can have a flu shot. However, there are some people who are at a higher risk of complications from the flu and it is strongly encouraged that they have an annual vaccine.
- Anyone over the age of 50
- People with chronic health problems, such as heart disease, lung disease, asthma, kidney disease or diabetes
- People with a weakened immune system due to:
- HIV/AIDS
- Long term steroid treatments
- Cancer
- Women who will be pregnant during flu season
- Household contact and caretakers of children below the age of 5
- Healthcare workers
