About the Hiking Club

The Columbia Hiking Club is a voluntary club sport open to all members of the Columbia Gym. It organizes day hikes throughout the year to various trails in the New York, New Jersey and Delaware area on Saturdays and Sundays. There are hikes scheduled almost every weekend, during the Fall and Spring semesters. The hikes are rigorous and typically cover six to ten miles with altitude gains of one to three thousand feet, but are non-technical, and require no special training or experience. The club also organizes two or three weekend camping trips each semester to the Catskill, the Adirondacks and the White Mountains.
