Dates and Times


Trip Dates: Friday 5/2 6 AM - Sunday 5/4 8 PM

Mandatory Meeting: Wednesday 4/16 7:30 PM at the Lou Gehrig Lounge in the Gym

Times: We load at 5:30 AM and leave promptly at 6 AM Friday from the Columbia Gates at Amsterdam

Trip Signup: If you wish to go you need to signup for the trip by online and attend the trip-meeting on Wednesday 4/16 at 7:30 PM in the Lou Gehrig Lounge of the Gym. The trip signup is $90 including transportation, food and lodging. If you have gone on trips with the Club before, you can just follow instructions to signup. Else contact Tracy (tlsantanelli at yahoo) to verify if this is appropriate for you.

Trip Meeting(mandatory): Monday 4/28 at 8 PM at the Lou Gehrig Lounge at the Gym (3rd floor). We'll work out the logistics of the trip at the meeting

Eligibility

We will be going over a couple of 2000 ft peaks. So keep that in mind when you sign up. This trip is appropriate for you if you are fit and have been on multi-day trips.

The Logistics

We'll meet Wednesday 4/16 at 7:30 PM and work out food and equipment details. A couple of people will collectively get food for the whole group. A couple of others will work out some of the logistics: the exact route and reservations for parking etc, weather reports. etc.

The Hike

Destination: Cardigan Lodge, NH
The van will leave May 2, 2008 at 6 am, and return May 4th, 2008 before 8pm. We will drive 5 - 7 hours to Cardigan Lodge in NH. We will then hike to High Cabin (1.8 miles) after we pick up firewood, where we will lodge for 2 nights (primitive cabin). We will then do a hike Friday evening depending on the time, a dayhike on Saturday and return Sunday after a short morning hike. The hikes will not be terribly difficult- moderate to easier. Equipment

You'll need Sleeping Bag; Backpack; Boots; Wet weather clothes; Unbreakable mug, plate, fork/spoon; Flashlight;

Signup

You need to signup for the trip as for other trips. The last day for signup is Monday 4/28 and the signup cost is $90 including the cost of the food and lodging. The trip-size is limited to 12. If you have questions contact Tracy (tlsantanelli at yahoo)
