HOW TO BE A LEADER!
1)Pick a date and place where and when you want to go. How long (approximately) is it going to take to drive there? How difficult is the hike? How long? Expected weather?
3)Send the information to Corinne (by the 15th of the preceeding month if possible). She will either give you a thumbs up or suggest another weekend if their is a conflict. Remember to try and give advance notification of at least two weeks. An absolute minimum of a week and a half.
4)The hike will be posted through email, the web site. All of the people interested in the hike will be referred to the trip leader (YOU) if they have questions. You can get a list of the people signed up for the trip the Thursday before the trip from Belgica Ramirez in the Club Sports office
5) Get in touch with the driver and exchange cell-phone numbers. The driver will pick up the required maps, and the First-Aid kit in addition to the van-keys from the building supervisor's office the day before the trip. Check the weather.
6)Meet the hikers and the Van with the driver at 8 AM at 116th and Amsterdam. Collect their money and give them receipts.
7)If the tank is less than half-full fill up the gas tank at the gas station all the way west on 125th street where all you need to do is give them a signature and no money (ask for directions when you know you're leading). The van should have had at least a half tank of gas when you picked it up (if not note this on the mileage form) and it should have a half tank when you park it. Make sure the van is as clean or better than when you picked it up.
8)Pay all of the tolls out of the money collected and get receipts for the treasurer.
9) Either you or the driver should complete the form and return the form and the keys to the building supervisor (office on the left when you first walk in Dodge Fitness Center).
Only 9 steps, almost like AA. It's really not that painful of a process and the club leaders are always here to help you out.
If you have any questions please email Corinne Leloup (corinne_leloup at yahoo.com).
Instructor FormNote: Sometimes there will be problems with the van. It will be
blocked, or missing. If that is the case, please contact the building
supervisor who will be in the Gym from 7 AM. The Supervisor for
Saturday is Tara Davis (x43441) and for Sunday it is Erich Ely
(x47149). They have spare keys, and may be able to find a replacement
van if needed.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, as a last
resort call Dr. Bill Ebner, the Diector of Club Sports at home (845) 623-2945
