Biography Dorothy Ko, professor (BarnardCollege), specializes in pre-modern Chinese history as well as the history of women and gender in East Asia. She received her B.A. and Ph.D. from StanfordUniversity. She is the author of Teacher of the Inner Chambers: Women and Culture in Seventeenth-Century China (1994) and Every Step a Lotus: Shoes for Bound Feet (2001).
