Biography
Neslihan Şenocak, assistant professor, specializes in medieval religious and intellectual history, in particular the Franciscan Order. She received her B.S. from the Middle East Technical University , Ankara, Turkey (1994), and an M.A. (1997) and Ph.D. (2002) from Bilkent University . She has published on the medieval Franciscan libraries in the Journal of Religious History, Scriptorium, and Archivum Franciscanum Historicum, and is at the moment finishing the manuscript of her book The Rise of Learning in the Franciscan Order 1210–1310. Her most recent project is on the relationship of violent crimes and urbanization in thirteenth-century Perugia .
