Biography
Yumi Kim works on modern Japan, focusing on the history of mental illness and its connections to discriminatory practices, medical science and embodiment in the late nineteenth century. She received her BA in History and Literature (France and Germany) from Harvard University in 2003 and her MA in Asian Studies from University of California, Berkeley in 2008.
