Biography
Nathan Pilkington specializes in Roman history. He received his B.A. with Highest Honors from UNC-Chapel Hill in Classics and Peace, War, and Defense. He received his M.A. in History from Columbia with a thesis entitled: "The Economic Consequences of Anemia in Imperial Italy: The Evidence and Interpretation of Skeletal Remains." Download a copy of the paper here. Currently, Nathan is completing a project on the biological standard of living in Roman Italy. Following the completion of this project, he will begin work on his dissertation. Currently titled "Carthaginian Imperialism: A Reappraisal", Nathan plans an intensive restudy of the Greco-Roman sources in order to develop a more accurate picture of Carthage's Empire, particularly methods of political, economic, and social control.
