Columbia University Housing

Many renovations have taken place over the summer while you have been away.  Some of the improvements that you will see in the residence halls include:

• New room doors with electronic Ving locks in Carman and Furnald Halls that work with your CUID.
• Renovations in Wien Hall to include new male and female bathrooms on floors 9 through 12 , new lounges on floors 5, 7, and 9, unisex ADA bathrooms on eight floors of the building, and upgraded electrical systems throughout the entire building.
• Renovations on the 1^st floor of Furnald and the 15^th floor of John Jay to accommodate additional student housing.
• Renovations in the recently added Harmony Hall and the 9^th floor 0f 600 W 113^th Street.  Both locations were added to the undergraduate bed total.
• EC 12^th floor renovations with new flooring, furniture, appliances, and painting throughout.
• New laundry machines in all halls with major renovations to the laundry rooms in Hartley, John Jay, and Schapiro.
• Overhead lighting installed throughout Watt Hall.  
• New furniture in Carman (desks, chairs, and desks) and Schapiro (beds, and desk chairs) Halls.
