Conference HousingOur Conference Housing program provides comfortable residence hall rooms in a campus environment for academic-related groups. If your group is seeking summer guest accommodations in New York City between the dates of June 1 and August 1, we would be happy to discuss our offerings with you and assist with other on-campus arrangements.
We can accommodate both large and small groups, and our Dining Services is able to provide a variety of meal plans to enhance your program. In addition, the campus provides many options for events ranging from small group meetings to large events. Groups may make arrangements for their participants to apply for housing online.
Accommodations
Housing options can range from suite-style settings to private, single rooms. All buildings are centrally located on campus and are within walking distance to anywhere at Columbia, the vibrant Morningside Heights neighborhood, and transportation to all areas of NYC. Accommodations are arranged based on size of group and residence hall availability.

Please call the Conference Housing Office at (212) 854-0365 to discuss additional options.Reservation InformationWe have experienced conference service managers on staff to assist with your conference arrangements. They can help answer questions specific to your group and walk you through the application process. Contact them by email at conferencehousing@columbia.edu or by phone at (212) 854-0365.If you require wheelchair accessibility or visual strobe alarms, please let us know before you check in. ServicesOnce you arrive, our concierge service will also be available to assist with check-in, offer directions and parking information, and recommend some of NYC’s finest restaurants and activities.Dining OptionsHealthy, delicious, and convenient meals can be part of your conference experience. All-you-care-to-eat meals at a reasonable cost can be served in our John Jay Dining Hall. Options include breakfast items like waffles or scrambled eggs, a salad bar or pasta station for lunch, and a variety of choices for dinner. Your group can also dine at one of the many on-campus cafes such as Uris Deli or the Blue Java coffee shop in Butler Library. Please visit the Dining Services website for additional information.
Columbia University Catering can also provide a range of options from coffee service and break provisions to full waiter-serviced events. TransportationColumbia’s location on Broadway allows for convenient transportation to and from all areas of the metro New York area. The![]() ![]() ![]() 1 subway train (red line - Broadway/7th Avenue local) and the M60, M4 and M104 bus stops are all in front of the Columbia gates on Broadway. New York City shuttle and taxi services are available 24 hours a day as well. Visitor Information provides detailed directions and a virtual tour of the campus.
Policies and ProceduresA no-smoking policy in all residence halls is instated during the summer conference housing season. In addition, no overnight guests are allowed in the residence halls. All pets are forbidden in the residence halls as well, except for seeing-eye dogs.
