The intent of this policy is to stress the importance of only cooking in designated areas.

Due to the hazards associated with their use, the following appliances may never be stored or used:

• air conditioners
• grills (excluding George Foreman Grills)
• halogen lamps
• immersion coils
• oil, kerosene, and gas lamps
• open-coiled appliances
• steam vaporizers
• waterbeds
• any appliance attached to multiple extension cords

 

The following appliances may be stored in a student’s room but used in designated cooking areas or kitchens only:

• coffeemakers
• George Foreman Grills
• hot plates
• microwave ovens
• rice cookers
• toasters/toasters ovens
