HartleyPart of the quad located east of Butler Library, Hartley Hall is one of two residences in the Living Learning Center. The LLC is the only all-class integrated residence at Columbia University. Each suite is a combination of both first-year and upperclass students, which foster opportunities for students to learn from each other's experience and knowledge. This setup also allows students to interact with others who have agreed to integrate their work experience, co-curricular activities, and academic interests into their living spaces. LayoutEvery floor, except floors two, nine and ten, of the ten-story building has three suites. The co-ed suites house 11-16 students, most of whom are first-years and sophomores. Each bi-level suite is composed of two bathrooms, with a total of four sinks and three showers in all, and a kitchen with two stoves. Each common area within the suites has a color television with cable, and the main lounge in the lobby of the building has pool tables and ping-pong tables. There is also a study lounge on the 10th floor and a computer lab on the ground floor. RA Rooms: 2A7, 3A9, 3C9, 5A8, 5C8, 6B4, 8B4, 9A9, 10A3, 10C Room Selection NotesHartley is comprised of mainly first-year students and sophomores, but a few juniors and seniors live here as well. Because the LLC has its own room selection process, anyone who wants to live in either Hartley or Wallach must apply by filling out an application from 111 Wallach Hall or by visiting Student Affairs. What Students Say"Hartley was a great place to spend my first year at Columbia. Living in such a comfortable setting with upperclassmen really helped me learn the ins-and-outs of Columbia, and it was great to be so close to the action on campus." "Hartley is not only a nice place to live, but has a convenient location. Just downstairs in the lobby is the Hartley Hospitality Desk, the Kosher Deli, a CUIT computer lab, and a lounge with pool and ping pong tables! In addition, it only takes two minutes to get to classes in Hamilton."
