Columbia University Housing

McBain is located near campus on the corner of 113th street and Broadway. Its prime location on Broadway is only one block away from Columbia, which allows students to stay within close proximity to campus, but gives them a bit of freedom away from the campus atmosphere. McBain was recently renovated in 2005, and now includes freshly painted walls, and remodeled kitchens and bathrooms on each floor. The street address for McBain Hall is 562 W. 113th Street.

Layout

McBain consists of mostly large doubles and a few large single rooms. Separate men’s and women’s bathrooms exist on each floor and are shared by the residents of that floor. Each floor also has a kitchen and a lounge area with a cable television. There is a main lounge area on the first floor with a piano, 3 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, and a computer lab as well.

Mostly sophomores live in the double rooms, with some juniors and seniors living in the large single rooms.
