Schapiro
Schapiro is the second newest residence hall on campus, built in 1988. Located on 115th and Broadway, this building offers great views of both Columbia campus and the Hudson River, especially from the sky lounge on the 17th floor, and is only a short walk to the 115th street gate, the 1/9 subway station, and Alfred Lerner Hall. During the Summer of 2005, a complete overhaul was done on the lighting systems in all the Schapiro rooms. The street address for Schapiro Hall is 605-615 W. 115th Street.

The music department also has piano practice rooms in Schapiro as well.In addition, Schapiro has two huge study lounges, one on the main floor with comfortable couches and chairs, and one on the 17th floor with a spectacular view of the Hudson River. RA Rooms: 210, 310, 410, 510, 516, 610, 710, 810, 910, 1110, 1210, 1410, 1610, 101/2 Room Selection NotesMostly juniors live in the singles, although some sophomores and a few juniors live in the doubles. What Students Say“Schapiro is equipped with excellent amenities -- carpet flooring, a common lounge, a kitchen, adequate bathrooms, music rooms, and of course the sky lounge! [Schapiro] had a lovely off-campus feel for me, which was a good break from the intensities of on-campus first-year living.”
“Schapiro is perfect for this year, my junior year, because it can be quiet. When I need to focus on work, it is no great task [because] there are few distractions. It is also very close to campus and practically on Broadway, which allows for easy access to both Lerner Hall and all the restaurants on Broadway.”
