This building is a pre-war construction, converted to a graduate residence hall in 1977 and into an undergraduate residence in 1996.Situated on 113th and Broadway, its location is perfect for students who desire an off-campus atmosphere while still being a short walk from campus. The street address for Watt is 549 W. 113th Street.

Layout

A six-story residence hall, each floor of Watt has multiple one bedroom apartments and two, two bedroom apartments per floor. Each apartment is equipped with a bathroom and an efficiency kitchen that contains a refrigerator, sink, and stove. Residents can easily walk across to street to McBain or around the corner to Broadway if they need printing access, as Watt doesn’t have a computer lab itself.

What Students Say

Watt is the ideal setting for upperclass students. You have the privacy you need to take care of all the business that piles up as you near graduation and a common room to entertain friends.”

“My own bathroom, my own kitchen, a fire escape and hardwood floors = total paradise. I would have liked not having to go to McBain whenever I wanted a candy bar or had to print something off, but I would love to live in Watt again.”
