Students wishing to obtain an East Campus, high-rise, five-person suite with one double room (the 04-18 even-numbered suites) may apply for the special East Campus Exclusion Rule, in which only the top three Columbia point values of the five member group will be averaged for their group priority value. New in 2009: 30 point senior groups will pick before 30 point EC Exclusion Suite groups.

If an EC Exclusion group of five shows up at their appointment time, and all of the Exclusion suites are gone, they may not choose a different five-person suite (i.e. one with all singles or in another building). They will automatically drop to General Selection, and all point values will be counted and divided by five, unless the group chooses to disband in General Selection.

You may only have a maximum of two Barnard students in a group trying for the EC Exclusion Rule and their points will not count. Barnard students may not enter Columbia's General Selection. Those wishing to take advantage of the EC Exclusion option must declare it during Registration.
