Living in the Brownstones 2009EligibilityContinuing CC/SEAS students who are part of the Greek community can opt to live in the Brownstones for the entire summer session. You do not need to be taking summer classes to qualify. In addition, interim housing is available to bridge the gap between two successive housing periods: Spring term and Summer session, or Summer session and Fall term. Students must be a resident in the term preceding and following the interim period to qualify.Periods and Rates
*Spring Interim Housing is only available in the Brownstones for residents who will remain in their current Spring room during the Summer. Fall Interim Housing is only available in the Brownstones for residents who will be remaining in their current Summer room during the Fall. All other residents who require Interim Housing will be required to move to a temporary assignment in an Interim building during the Interim period. You must be able to move during this time in order to be eligible for Interim. Also, please note that you may not leave any personal items in the common areas of your Interim assignment, including the kitchens, bathrooms, and suite spaces. At the end of Interim Housing, you will be allowed to move to your Summer or Fall assignment. Buildings AvailableThe Brownstones along 113th and 114th Streets. 100% occupancy is required for the Brownstones to remain open.
Application InformationTo apply for Summer housing in the Brownstones, you must: 1. Be a current or future resident in a Brownstone or a member of a Fraternity or Sorority. 2. Contact the specific Fraternity or Sorority House Manager so that you will be included on the submission of their Summer roster. 3. Complete the Summer Housing Application before April 3 to guarantee your Summer Housing. A $50 non-refundable application processing fee will be billed to your Student Account after your application has been submitted. In addition, a $50 application processing late fee will be applied if you submit your application after the preliminary deadline of April 3. Cancellation PolicyPlease note that you will be billed from the first day of your session until you cancel and Check-Out, regardless of your actual housing period. Before you leave, fill out a Cancellation Form. Additional fees will apply if you do not comply with set housing period move-in and move-out dates.
All students must officially Check-Out at the Hartley Hospitality Desk
before they leave.
The cancellation fees below will be applied upon official Check-Out of your room.
