Interns

Eligibility

We offer housing for non-Columbia students working as interns in the metropolitan area for the summer. Current college or university students who are at least 18 years of age, with a valid ID for the Spring 2008 term and an acceptance letter for an internship or summer program in New York City are qualified. We do not, however, offer housing to married couples, unless each person wishes to pay for a room, and we do not offer accommodations for children either.

Application Information

To apply for Intern Housing, please email Samantha Soren at ss3490@columbia.edu.

Our housing is first-come, first serve once we have received your payment in full. Due to difficulties last summer due to credit limits, please advice your credit card company that a payment of a large amount will be charged to your account before you try to register.

If you require accommodations due to a disability, please note your need on your application. In addition, we may ask you to fill out the Disability Housing Accommodations Request Form and submit supporting documentation. We will make every effort to meet your needs, but please note that this is only a request and not guaranteed.

Interns will be granted a full gym membership to the Dodge Physical Fitness Center for the entire 9 week period, included in your housing rate.

Please remember that we do not offer housing to married couples, unless each person wishes to pay for a room, and we do not offer accommodations for children either.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that you must sign up for the entire 9-week package. Once you are accepting into housing, you will receive a confirmation email to secure your guaranteed housing space. Space is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis for eligible applicants who have made the full payment. If you wish to cancel your summer housing, please fill out the Intern Housing Cancellation form.

If you cancel prior to April 2, 2008, you will be liable for the non-redundable $50.00 application fee. We will bill your credit card appropriately. Other non-refundable cancellation fees are as follows:
