Visiting Summer Students 2009EligibilityWe offer housing to students from any college or university who are enrolled to take courses during the summer sessions at Columbia University through the School of Continuing Education, the School of General Studies, or the Summer Architecture Program. Barnard students also qualify for summer housing through this application but must be enrolled in summer session classes. Students must be over the age of 18 and enrolled in courses for the summer. Please note that current high school students are not eligible for summer housing (this includes students who were accepted into the class of 2012). However, high school students can apply for the High School Program through the School of Continuing Education.Periods and Rates
*Please note: Students staying for two consecutive sessions (Session D or F&H AND Session Q or R&S) may remain in residence July 2 through July 5 free-of-charge.
Buildings AvailableResidents will be given Suite-Style, single rooms in either Ruggles, 600 W. 113, Hogan, or River. The final decisions for the locations that will be used for Summer Housing will be determined in April.Application InformationSummer Housing Applications will be available on February 2, and a non-refundable $50 application processing fee will be added to your total housing bill for the summer. If you register after April 3, there will be an additional $50 application processing late fee that will be applied to your total housing bill for the summer. To register for Summer Housing, please visit the School of Continuing Education Summer Session website. Once all the spaces are filled, the application will be removed. If more spaces become available, the application will be online again. If you are requesting accommodations due to a disability, you must complete the Disability Housing Accommodations Request Form and submit supporting documentation to the Office of Disability Services. However, please note that this is only a request and approval by the Office of Disability Services does not necessarily guarantee that your accommodations request will be granted. Accommodations are based upon availability. If you are approved by the Office of Disability Services, we will make every effort to meet your needs. Cancellation PolicyPlease note that you will be billed from the first day of your session until you cancel and Check-Out, regardless of your actual housing period. Before you leave, fill out a Cancellation Form. Additional fees will apply if you do not comply with set housing period move-in and move-out dates.
All students must officially Check-Out at the Hartley Hospitality Desk
before they leave.
The cancellation fees below will be applied upon official Check-Out of your room.
