Recent decades have witnessed an expansion in both international cooperation as well as a global exchange of knowledge and services.
Columbia University, because of its geographic location and history, has long played a significant role in educating future leaders of many countries. Similarly the College of Dental Medicine in its postdoctoral training programs has trained, and continues to do so, graduates from non-US dental schools who have assumed academic leadership positions in their countries of origin.
