Biography
Charles K. Armstrong specializes in modern Korean, East Asian, and international
history. He was educated at Yale University, the London School of Economics,
and the University of Chicago, where he received his Ph.D. in 1994. His
published works include The North Korean Revolution, 1945-1950
(Cornell, 2003), and Korean Society: Civil Society, Democracy, and the
State (Routledge, 2002), "The Cultural Cold War in Korea" in Journal of
Asian Studies (February 2003) and "The Origins of North Korean Cinema" in
Acta Koreana (January 2002). He is currently working on a study of
North Korea in the international system, a history of modern East Asia, and a
history of the two Koreas. |  |
