The Interschool Governing Board (IGB) was created by the Student Affairs Caucus of the University Senate to serve groups which were constitutionally interschool and who, due to their nature, have been unable to receive recognition under the available governing boards.
The mission of the Interschool Governing Board (IGB) is to represent and serve the needs of Columbia University student organizations whose mission is interschool in nature and whose membership includes students from various schools in the university. Organizations recognized under the IGB must not fall or qualify under the immediate jurisdiction of current governing boards or individual school councils.
The IGB is dedicated to overseeing and supporting such student organizations in their efforts to facilitate multi-disciplinary, multi-interest, multi-student/faculty community building, programming and dialogue. The IGB’s motive in serving student organizations is to create a dynamic sense of community that is widely recognized within the Columbia Student body.
