February 26, Thursday: Hungry for Japanese Ramen Noodles?



Come join CJS members for a downtown adventure to Ippudo, a renowned ramen restaurant devoted to introducing this popular Japanese cuisine to New Yorkers. Absorb the stylish layout as you consume what Tokyoites consider to be authentic Japanese food. Take your hands off of those California rolls and take a tour with your Japanese classmates for a real driftin' ramen experience!

March 7, Saturday: Book-Off at Bryant Park!



Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be in a bookstore in Japan? Have you ever wanted to see rows and rows of your favorite Japanese manga lining the walls and shelves or to see your favorite Japanese celebrities gracing the covers of Japanese pop culture magazines? How, you ask? Experience Japan in New York! Come with CJS as we venture off into midtown and visit Kinokuniya and Book-Off, two bookstores commonly found all over Japan. Find your favorite Japanese classics such as The Tale of Genji by Lady Murasaki, or even books by your favorite American authors for as little as $1! We'll top our day off with some delicious Japanese cream puffs, onigiri, or obento (Japanese Lunch Boxes) at Café Zaiya.

April 3, Friday Gyu-gotta come to Gyu-Kaku!



Do you find yourself wishing that your dinner tables had little grills in the center? Do you also wish that let you could cook delicious pieces of meat and veggies on said grills, Japanese-BBQ style? If so, that's kind of strange, as that's an awfully specific day-dream to have, but you should join CJS on our Japan in New York-sponsored trip to Japanese BBQ sensation Gyu-Kaku! At Gyu-Kaku, the food is served raw, and you cook it at your table. It may sound strange, but it's super fun! Plenty of self grilling, delicious memories are guaranteed!
