Control on all takedowns and sweeps must be exhibited for one
second:
Takedown: 2 points
Grappler A initiates a maneuver in which Grappler B goes from
standing
or on one knee/both knees to lying prone on back or butt or hip, or
with
three body parts (any combination of knees and hands/arms) touching
the
ground, for one second
Takedown directly into the cross side position: 4 points
Sweep: 2 points
Grappler A executes a maneuver from the guard or half-guard in which
Grappler B has gone from the top position to lying prone on back or
butt
or hip, or with three body parts (any combination of knees and
hands/arms) touching the ground, for one second
Jumping to the guard (any guard) from the standing position: 0
points
awarded
Escapes/Reversals: 0 points
Escaping an inferior position or reversing the top and bottom
positions
while in an inferior position
Points will only be awarded for positions held for three seconds.
Passing the Guard: 3 points
Pass the guard or half-guard to the cross side or north south
position
Knee on stomach: 0 points
Mount: 4 points
Back mount with both hooks: 4 points
NO repeat points for the same position:
Grappler A has received points for establishing a position on
Grappler B:
For Grappler A to get points for the same position again later in
time,
GRAPPLER B MUST HAVE ESCAPED GRAPPLER A'S PIN. This is to avoid
Grappler
A from switching from one mount to another and then back and forth
to
rack up points. 2 points will be awarded for side mount. Going from
side
mount to full mount will be an additional 4 points. If Grappler A
goes
back to side mount and then returns to full mount, no additional
points
will be awarded. If Grappler B rolls over and Grappler A establishes
rear mount with the hooks, Grappler A receives 4 points.
No backing out of the guard: If Grappler A jumps guard, or is taken
down
or swept by Grappler B, Grappler B cannot stand up and flee the
guard of
Grappler A in an attempt to force Grappler A to stand up so they can
start from the standing position again. Grappler B MUST engage the
guard. Flagrant abuse will result in a two point penalty for the
first
and second attempts and the third will result in disqualification.
Advantages:
Advantages will only decide a match in the event of a tie
One advantage can be awarded, in the discretion of the referee for
each
near submission attempt, near takedown, near sweep or near guard
pass or
taking of a position but not holding it for the required three
seconds.
No overtime: in the event of a tie on points (and advantages) as
well,
the decision will be up to the referee
ULTIMATE DISCRETION OF ALL RULINGS IS UP TO THE REFEREE
Clothing:
Must wear top and bottom (shorts or pants AND shirt)
Mouthpiece is encourage but not required
Wrestling shoes are allowed
Protective braces and headgear are allowed as long as there are no
exposed metal pieces which are dangerous to the opposing grappler
