Who Are
We?
Ayelet
Lindsay
Michael
Ayelet loves the Columbia/Barnard community, so much in fact that it reminds her of Gan Eden. A First-Year at Barnard, she has put her dreams of becoming a jammin' female Matisyahu on hold in order to devote herself to the Beit Midrash now that she is a part of the committee. She considers herself somewhat of a talmid(ah) muvhak(et) of Rav Yitz Twersky and would love to one day see him return to our Shiurim line-up, but if she can't get that she would at least like to see a little more breakdancing in the Beit Midrash... Ayelet loves lemonade but is afraid of lemons squirting in her eye, though she has assured us that this won't stop her from being a committed member of the BMC. We are all looking forward to the great things she will be doing this coming semester.
Lindsay is very proud to be a Southern Californian and is still in denial when she wakes up in the morning and sees everything outside her window covered in white. She thinks that "40 is not warm..." and wants people to, "stop bragging about the weather when it's 40 degrees outside." Lindsay often laments the fact that Barnard does not make whole-wheat pizza, but she thinks the tofu in the salad bar is a good start. As a Freshman, Lindsay was scared of almost every person in the school but Thank  G-d she has grown out of her fears and now comes to Kraft regularly. She really likes ice cream, especially chocolate-chip cookie-dough, and she wants everyone to know that "I heart the BMC"; look forward to her sporting the new BMC t-shirt this semester...
Michael's dream was to attend Barnard but he was rejected based on gender qualification and instead settled for Columbia. "I plan to file a lawsuit later this semester," were Emerson's comments, "there is discrimination and I do not approve." Though you may not have detected an accent, Michael hails from Memphis, Tennessee and contrary to popular belief he has never been on a farm other than Shaalvim. Michael enjoys studying in the basement of IAB, treating upperclassmen to meals at Hewitt, and sample-sales. He takes great pride in his wardrobe which, at times, can actually be louder than he is, believe it or not. We're happy to have Michael on the BMC, especially since he brings along the same lively spirit to meetings as he does to Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat.
