The keynote lecture, by Professor Yerushalmi, will be this Sunday at 8 pm in Feinberg Auditorium, at JTS. Jewish Student Union SHABBAT ANNOUNCEMENTS November 6, 1992 1) CJC is having just another awesome meal next Friday. Sign up in the Jewish Office. 2) Tomorrow, RJC is sponsoring a Liturgy Workshop with Rabbi Oren from 2:30 to 4 in 518 Hamilton. 3) CJC is having Shabbat Morning Services tomorrow in the Dodge room from 9:30 to noon. 4) The Social Committee is sponsoring a Bagel Brunch on Sunday from 11:30 to 1 in Carman Lounge. 5) Pick up your election/selection packets for the JSU executive board in the office on Monday. This is a great opportunity to serve the community in a significant manner. 6) Also, the deadline for the next and final calendar mailing will be Monday. So if you have an event planned sometime during the rest of the semester, get it confirmed before 11 AM or you will have lost your finger perched upon the pulse of Jewish life. 7) Rabbi Sheer will be starting a new Talmud class on Tuesdays 5:45 to 7. It will deal with laws of Kasrut and will trace the development of Jewish Law from the Talmud through the latest sources. 8) Next Tuesday, the JSU is sponsoring the annual Kristallnacht program. 9) Yavneh is helping Jewish orphans, and you can too! Come to Catch a Rising Star next Thursday night and get your yucks while spending bucks for a good cause. 10) Completed JSU election/selection packets are due next Friday. 11) If students still want to attend the General Assembly this week as volunteers, please contact Amy or David and help out on Sunday.
