There are still tickets available for this Sunday's performance of "Shver tzu zayn a Yid" (Hard to be a Jew) at the Yiddish Theatre. Meet at the Columbia Gates at 4pm with $7 for the ticket. It will be performed in Yiddish with simultaneous English translations.

On Tuesday at noon, Sicha, the Jewish grad group in SIPA, is holding a forum responding to anti-semitism. Rabbi Sheer and Dr. Jeffrey Ross of the ADL will be speaking on the 6th floor lounge in SIPA.
This coming Tuesday we will have a very special program in commemoration of Kristallnacht. On November 9 and 10, 1938 attacks began in Germany which in retrospect were seen as the beginning of the Holocaust. A special talk will be given by Dr. Fritz Stern, former provost of Columbia University and an internationally known historian of German history. He is a university professor which is the highest rank an academic officer can achieve at Columbia. His talk will be at 7:30pm in Havemayer. This is a very important occasion on the Jewish calender and we encourage you to attend.

Please come to the Israel Programs Fair which will be held this Wednesday from 6-7:30pm in Earl Hall Auditorium. There will be reps form various programs in Israel and America, live Israeli music, refreshments and a moment of silence in memory of Yitzhak Rabin.
Columbia Students for Israel is organizing a game of Kibush Yerushalayim, similar to Capture the Flag, this Thursday night. In order to do this we need enough people to play so please contact Zahava Goldman or the Jewish Office if interested.

Elections will be coming up soon for the JSU Executive Board. Dynamic, intelligent, and experienced individuals are invited to apply. Four positions are elected by popular vote - President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Social/Outreach Coordinator. Four positions are determined by a selection committee - Israel Action, Religious Life, Social Services and Cultural/Educational. An application packet, which is available in the Jewish Office, must be returned to the Jewish Office by this Wednesday at 5pm.
Perspectives, Columbia's Jewish magazine is looking for writers for articles of any Jewish content. Contact Evan Hochberg for more info. Also, any JSU group is now able to publicize events in Perspectives, so drop off the information in their mailbox in the Jewish Office by December 30th.
