    JSU SHABBAT ANNOUNCEMENTS

    Tonight's Oneg will be at 9pm in John Jay lounge in honor of the outgoing Executive Board. Please come to express your appreciation and to meet the new Executive Board who are sponsoring the Oneg.

    Celebrate Rosh Chodesh, the beginning of the Hebrew month Shevat, with the Jewish Women's Coalition this Sunday at 8pm in the Jewish Office. The topic will be: Eco-Feminism-Judaism. For more info. speak to Jill Jacobs or Elie Heyman.

    There will be a meeting for the planning of the Yiddishkeit Festival, A Night at the Yiddish Theatre, this Sunday at 5pm in John Jay Lounge.

    This Thursday at 7pm Dr. Walter Hertzberg, from the Pardes Institute of Jerusalem will be giving a talk entitled "Traditional Commentators Anticipating a Modern Literary Approach to the Bible".

    The Jewish Office and the Beit Midrash are offering over a dozen Jewish studies courses such as Bible study, Hebrew, Torah reading for women, Talmud and many more. Registration will be this week in the Jewish Office and classes will begin the week of the 29th.

    The Jewish Office staff has prepared a brief guide to help you plan JSU events. Any student running any program should please ask Laurie for this guide before developing your program.

    It is the beginning of the year, while you still have free time, join UJA for a mini Chesed mission in the area on Sunday, January 28th. For more info. call Zahava Goldman or Deena Aaronoff.

    The Bayit, Columbia's Jewish Student Residence, has one vacancy for this semester. If you would like to arrange for an interview, contact Ben-David Seligman.

    Congregation Ramat Orah on 110th St. needs people to help make weekday minyanim. Services are at 7am on weekdays and 9am on Sundays. If you can commit to one or more days a week, please see Daniel Reifman.

    The JTS Theatre Group still has places for actors in its Hebrew production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Contact the JTS Student Life Office for details.

    A Yale Model Knesset will take place February 22nd-25th at Yale University. Applications are due by February 1st and can be picked up in the Jewish Office. For more information, call Zahava Goldman.

    Yavneh will be having morning services at 9:15am followed by kiddush - all invited

    Rabbi Sheer will be giving a shiur on this week's parsha at 11:45am in the Schiff room of Earl Hall.

    Shabbat lunch will be at 12:30pm.

    Mincha:
    Koach- 4:15pm
    Yavneh- 4:20pm
    followed by Seudah Shelishit, the third meal.

    Maariv: 5:42pm, Shabbat ends at 5:43pm.

    ALL ANNOUNCEMENTS MUST BE IN TO THE JEWISH OFFICE BY THURSDAY AT 5PM. NO LATE ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
