Rabbi Sheer will be giving a class on Shabbat afternoon at 6:00pm in the Schiff room of Earl Hall. He will speak on the three Talmudic passages that interpret the birth and sex laws of this weeks Torah portions.
Come to Bikur Cholim, visiting the sick, at St. Lukes Hospital every Shabbat afternoon. Meet either in meal plan or at the Barnard Gates at 2pm. JTS students may meet at 113th & Amsterdam near the hospital entrance.
The Jewish Culture Explosion is finally here! Starting Monday with a Kumzitz for Yom Hazikaron - Remembrance Day and culminating next Friday night with an evening of storytelling with Peninnah Schram. In between, help celebrate Yom Ha'Atzmaut - Israel Ind ependence Day, stuff yourself at Night of 1,000 Foods, and stimulate your mind with Professor James Shapiro. Keep your eyes peeled for posters and enjoy.

Two years ago, about 100 students wrote a commentary on Avot, ethics of the fathers. This wonderful project was sponsored by the Beit Midrash which is selling copies in the Jewish Office and elsewhere for $5. Come get your copy.
Copies of Fanya Heller's Yom Hashoa Memoir are available in the Jewish Office for $10 with all proceeds going to the JSU.
This is the last week that the Senior Class Gift Committee will be collecting gifts for the JSU. You can drop them off in the Jewish Office or contact Steve Furer.

If you're still thinking about a trip to Israel this summer, Hillel of New York is coordinating 3 "specialty" trips for students involved in Greek life on campus, the arts, and students from the former Soviet Union.
