    JSU SHABBAT ANNOUNCEMENTS

    April 26, 1996 - come to the Jewish Office, 105 Earl Hall, for details

    Tonight's Oneg will be "Storytelling from Around the World" with Penninah Schram in John Jay lounge at 9:30pm. There will also be a special tribute to all graduating seniors so the class of 1996 is especially invited.

    Havurah is having their last pot-luck Shabbat dinner tonight at 7:30pm in Schapiro lounge. All are welcome so if you're interested in coming, please bring something.

    Come to Bikur Cholim, visiting the sick, at St. Lukes Hospital every Shabbat afternoon. Meet either in meal plan or at the Barnard Gates at 2pm. JTS students may meet at 113th & Amsterdam near the hospital entrance.

    Don't miss one of your last chances to have a good time this Sunday night at 7pm in East Campus lounge, eat all the pizza and soda you can while enjoying 2 movies for only $1.

    This Monday the Beit Midrash is holding an open meeting to discuss programming for the upcoming year at 4:30pm in Earl Hall. All are welcome.

    This Tuesday, RJC is going to frolic in Central Park, have afternoon iced tea, and go to the Jewish Museum. Meet at the 116th St. Gate with tokens at 3:30pm. Any questions, call Anat Shenker.

    Gayava has weekly meetings at 8:30 PM on Tuesdays in the Jewish Office. Contact Jason Klein through the Jewish office or Email gayava@columbia.edu for details.

    Perspectives, the JSU's magazine, will be available early next week so keep an eye out for it.

    The Jewish Office has various listings for summer jobs and internships posted outside the office so stop by and check them out.

    Two years ago, about 100 students wrote a commentary on Avot, ethics of the fathers. This wonderful project was sponsored by the Beit Midrash which is selling copies in the Jewish Office and elsewhere for $5. Come get your copy.

    Copies of Fanya Heller's Yom Hashoa Memoir are available in the Jewish Office for $10 with all proceeds going to the JSU.

    It's not too late for Israeli Dancing every Monday night at 7:45pm in the Auditorium of Earl Hall. Dancing will continue throughout the summer.

    Due to construction the 2nd floor of Earl Hall will be closed on Sunday so Mincha services for that day will be in the Dodge room at 4:10pm.

    *Please note that Friday night services for Yavneh and Koach for the remainder of the semester will be around 6:00pm, and are not an hour later even without Daylight Savings Time.

    Shabbat meal cards & dinner: 7:30pm

    Yavneh WILL NOT be having morning services this Shabbat.
    Shabbat lunch will be at 12:30pm.
    Mincha:

    Koach- 7:00pm
    Yavneh- 7:10pm
    Women's T'filah - 7:10

    all followed by Seudah Shelishit, the third meal.
    Maariv: 8:25pm
    Shabbat ends at 8:30pm.
