    Shabbat Announcements 12/5/97

    Mazal Tov to the new officers of the Yavneh, Koach & RJC religious communities:

    Tonight’s Oneg will be in Hartley Lounge at 9:00 PM. Pizmon will perform. Refreshments will be served.

    Rabbi Sheer will be giving a Chumash class Shabbat morning in the Schiff room at 11:45 AM.

    Come and celebrate with friends at the 2nd annual Chanukah Ball on Saturday, 12/6 at 10 PM in the Low Rotunda. Tickets will be available for $20 at the door. See you there.

    Come to Havurah’s bagel brunch Sunday, 12/7 at 11:30 AM in John Jay Lounge. Kosher food will be provided.

    A note to Columbia College Women: There will be an all-female swim test on Tuesday, 12/9, at 10 am in the Dodge Fitness Center. See Shana Gillers for more information.

    Planning for the Pluralism Shabbaton (Jewnity II) will be held on Tuesday, 12/9 at 6:30 PM in 407 Hamilton.

    Hillel is sponsoring the National Conference on Public Policy (The Spitzer Forum) in Florida in February. A Few hundred students will attend. Forums will be held on Social questions, political issues & Jewish Communial affairs. It promises to b e exciting. Scholarships are available. Come to the Jewish Office before the winter break to commit.

    Dartmouth University is sponsoring a ski Shabbaton Feb.6-8. Ski the Killington Mountains and pray for your life. See Carolyn in the Jewish Office for more info.

    Join Wednesday Night Learning Wednesday at 8:30 PM in Earl Hall. Come learn anything that interests you about Judaism.

    Israeli dancing every Monday evening from 7:30-11:30 PM.

    Earl Hall would like to remind students that the building closes at 11 PM. Please cooperate.
