    Shabbat Announcements 5/8/98

     

    Rabbi Charles sheer will be giving a special class Shabbat morning at 11:45AM in the Earl Hall Schiff Room.

     If you attended last week’s Koach dinner @ Hewitt by did not pay/sign up, please come into the Jewish Office this week. Don’t make Koach pay for your oversight.

     If you are interested in coming to a JSU potluck senior dinner next Friday night email Judith Sambol ( jms103@columbia.edu )by Wednesday 5/13.

    We are missing many of our prayer books. If anyone has one in his or her room, please return it.

     The Jewish Office would like to hire someone for office & data entry work for a few weeks after exams. Hours & duration are flexible. Basic computer skills needed. Contact the Jewish Office.

     Rabbi Charles Sheer is looking for a student to serve as Masgiach (Kashrut Supervisor) at Barnard Meal Plan. Please contact him as soon as possible. Good pay, moderate hours & a guaranteed seat in the world to come.

     Please note that for the first Shabbat (before Labor Day) meals will be provided for First Year Students & JelLO advisors ONLY! Returning students will not be able to register at Hewitt.

     A meal is being planned for upperclassmen for Friday night Shabbat dinner during orientation. If you are interested, call the Jewish Office (45111) or contact Alison Joseph alj10@columbia.edu before August 14th.

    Morning Services:
    Koach: 10:00 a.m.
    Yavneh: 9:30 a.m.
    Yavneh invites everyone to a huge end of the year chulent kiddush after services.

    Shabbat lunchtime: 12:30 p.m.

     Afternoon services:
    Koach: 7:10 p.m.
    Women’s T’fillah: 7:10 p.m.
    Yavneh: 7:20 p.m.

     Havdalah: 8:47 p.m.
