    This Sunday & Monday in the Edah conference entitled "Orthodoxy Encounters a Changing World" being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel starting at 9 am. If you wish to attend, and have not registered in advance, please note that you must come early to insure attendance. There are only a few places left.     Join Jews for Social Justice and be part of the Spring Hunger Initiative. Held in April on Low Plaza, this exciting event raises awareness about hunger in NYC and offers immediate ways for people in the Columbia community to address the issue. If you are a Jew who cares about justice, come to 313 Hamilton, Tuesday February 16 at 8:00pm to be part of this event. (If you are interested but can't come to this meeting, contact Mirka Feinstein, Miriam Sheinbein, or Rabbi Rosenn.

    Come share your own ideology and learn about other student's ideologies in a follow up to last week's "Divided We Stand". Don't worry if you weren't there the first time. Feed your mind. Feed your face. Pizza will be served. Wednesday 7pm in 511 Kent.

    This Thursday there will be a Sephardic cooking class at 7:30 pm in H60 East Campus. The meal will be served after minyan on Friday. Sign up by Wednesday in the Jewish Office.

    Tickets are now on sale for the Ninth Annual Jewish Collegiate Festival of the Performing Arts. The Festival will be on February 21st and will have over 15 groups performing. Pick up tickets in the Jewish Office or at the Office of Student Life at JTS. Contact Ilan Glazer or Todd Surden.

    The Beit Midrash is accepting applications this week for a new committee of coordinators. Applications can be picked up from & returned to the Beit Midrash mailbox in the Jewish Office. Responsibilities include program planning, fundraising, book buying, shiur planning and room maintenance. Deadline is Feb. 28. Contact Judith Roth, Yosie Levine or Yehuda Kurtzer.

    Dorot, the JSU's project for the elderly, needs volunteers to visit local shut-ins. If you have even just an hour to spare, email Eric eng7 or Dosi, ht88.

    Barnard-Columbia Education Project (BCEP), Community Impact's program that teaches writing and SAT's and offers college guidance has volunteer positions available. We meet on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Barnard. Kosher pizza dinner is served. Please contact Debbie Katz at dk208 for information.

    The Beit Midrash is having its annual seforim (book) drive. Help the Beit Midrash update its library. Please make checks payable to the Beit Midrash of Columbia and give them to Yosie Levine, Yehuda Kurtzer or Judith Roth.

    Update on the Kraft Center for Jewish Student Life
    At the current time, excavation of the site is completed and the steel structure is now almost all up. We invite you to take a look and watch our home being built at 115th street between Broadway and River Side Drive, across from Schapiro.
