i) Factoid of the Week
This weekÂ’s factoid features SEAS Sophomore, pre-med and Applied Math major: Daniel Friedman.
Daniel Friedman always had a dream of becoming a rockstar. Through hard work and dedication, he succeeded in joining his mentor Zev Weiner in his band, Zev and the PhishStyx. Due to semesters abroad he is the lone PhishStyk this semester. However, he did persevere in attaining the rockstar abs he has today. Speaking of Zev, Daniel really loves the Bible and loves quoting verses in Scripture.
His musical talent was one of the main reasons he ever got into an Ivy League institution since he sent the admissions office a song to which he provided vocals and all the music, entitled, “Take Me Into College.” This song can be heard here: http://www.columbia.edu/~dmf2114/music/ (Note: the college file is entirely Daniel (vocals and instruments) while the hinei file is a song written by Daniel for Dedi). In his attempt to rise to stardom he convinced all of Camp Lavi to chant his name in the dining room at every meal from 1998-2000 (although rumor has it the chants continue to this day…). In an attempt to emulate the rockstars in the group ZZ Top, he has started to grow a beard of his own which he claims is a sefirah beard but, rumor has it, was started days in advance.
Despite his obvious priorities to becoming a rock star, he has also tried to climb the political ladder in other ways. This scheme has led him to positions of power such as secondary facilitator in the gabbinate, menÂ’s daily halacha dictator, and master of tisch-related activities. Through these avenues of power, he plans to stage a coup and dethrone Jeremy Bressman on the near future.

j) Joke of the Week
A Buddhist monk goes to a barber to have his head shaved. "What should I pay you?" the monk asks. "No price, for a holy man such as yourself," the barber replies. And what do you know, the next day the barber comes to open his shop, and finds on his doorstep a dozen gemstones.
That day, a priest comes in to have his hair cut. "What shall I pay you, my son?" "No price, for a man of the cloth such as yourself." And what do you know, the next day the barber comes to open his shop, and finds on his doorstep a dozen roses.
That day, Rabbi Finklestein comes in to get his payoss [sideburns] trimmed. "What do you want I should pay you?" "Nothing, for a man of God such as yourself." And the next morning, what do you know? The barber finds on his doorstep a dozen rabbis!
