US Fellowship Application
We will be awarding 15 JUAMI US Fellowships to US PhD and post-doctoral researchers to cover all travel and participation costs in the December 2012 school. Successful applicants must have strong academic and scientific records, be actively engaged in research in the areas of focus for this school, and have a strong interest in developing collaborations with young African researchers. The deadline for application is September 30, 2012. Awardees will be informed shortly thereafter in order to leave time to make travel plans.Application: The application should be sent as electronic documents attached to an email to Prof. Simon Billinge at sb2896@columbia.edu. The application package should be sent as soon as possible but is to arrive no later than September 30, 2012. The application package should include:
- Brief CV of student, including publications and degrees earned.
- Description of current research project (maximum 600 words).
- Half- to one-page statement in student's own words expressing what he or she would hope ot obtain from attending the school, as well as ideas for what he or she will bring to enhance and improve the outcomes of the school.
- Letter of support from the student's advisor (sent separately by the advisor directly to Prof. Simon Billinge at sb2896@columbia.edu).
