Saturdays, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Aerobics Room #3
Anybody with a valid DFC membership is welcome to drop in and try out a class for FREE. Dues are $50.00 per semester, cash or check made out to "Columbia University." This includes insurance through Grizzly Insurance, Inc., but not a uniform or judogi. Though we train predominately with the gi, if you don't have one come by in regular gym clothes and we'll try to accomodate you! Just show up on time, hygenic, and ready to learn and you'll have a great time.
A typical class consists of calisthenic warm ups, break falls, technique practice, and free sparring (standup and groundwork). Other things typically included in the semester curriculum are street self-defense, no-gi techniques, and strength training. Though the club as a whole aims to be competitive, everyone is free to move at their own pace with their individual goals in mind. Contact us if you have any questions.
