Another story: As the story goes among the beginners, I neary drowned one of our safety boaters. I flipped trying to play on one of the waves next to the abandoned bridge pylons. My roll didn't work, and I held out for a bow rescue.
Jackie gets there, but is alongside. She decides that instead of getting the bow to me, she'd hold out her hand, so she takes her hands off the paddle and holds out her hand. SUddenly this hand grabs her arm and nearly yanks it off. Jackie, with a look of disbelief in her face apparently yells "I am going under", and flips.
I find that my bow diappears for some reason, so decide to swim, and pop out, and lo and behold see jackie swimming a foot away from me !! Lots of boats, people, paddles, confusion.
Later after profuse apologies, when I inquired "Must be a long time since you last swam Jackie", she said "On the Farmingtom !! Yes".
