The Kingsmen Play K'upid
The Setup:
Jeremy contacts the group and tells us that he wants to creatively propose
to his girlfriend Erica. Being Ambassadors of Love, we of course could not
resist the opportunity. However, the whole operation had to be a well
orchestrated surprise, so we show up at Lincoln Center at 4:30 on an October
afternoon and start singing. We were the best dressed street
performers that I have ever seen. When Jeremy and Erica start walking
across the fountains, late for the 5pm show that Jeremy never actually had
tickets for, we start into a special rendition of "I Get Around" with some
alternative lyrics Jeremy penned. Suffice to say, it ended with "I wanna
be with you for the rest of my life, I love you so much I wanna make you my
wife," 10 Kingsmen with roses, one Jeremy down on his knee, and one very, very
confused and ecstatic Erica.
From all of us at the Kingsmen, Congratulations to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Rosenfeld!
We got a shout-out in the New York Observer Matrimonials!
