Tony Lee (CC'15)

Born and raised in Seoul until the age of eight, Tony immigrated to the US back in 2000. He moved to New York City in 2001 and has been living in the greatest city in the world ever since. Tony hopes to major in Economics-Political science and be involved in law and government after graduation. Through KSA, Tony not only hopes to help the organization actively spread and promote Korean culture on the diverse and vibrant campus of Columbia, but also have a great time doing so with a group of amazing people. During his freetime, Tony likes to support Manchester United, play soccer, keep up with politics and current events, read manga and Korean webtoons, and draw monograms.

Kevin Suh (CC'14)

Kevin comes from Seattle, Washington and is currently a junior studying Financial Economics, with strong career interests in consulting and entrepreneurship. Through KSA, he hopes to further pursue and learn about his own culture, while providing a strong network with opportunities for others to do the same. During his free time, Kevin likes to play basketball, express his creativity through visual and graphic design, try new things, and follow the NY Knicks (despite the many headaches that it tends to cause).

Elisha Lee (BC'15)

Elisha was born and currently lives in Washington. She attended middle school and high school in Fort Worth, Texas. She plans to major in Neuroscience and Behavior and wants to go to medical school. She aspires to one day become a pediatrician and travel to third world countries helping kids in need. She enjoys being with her KSA members and hopes to continue learning about her heritage as well as show her korean culture throughout the campus. In her free times she likes to adventure out into the city, watch superhero/action movies in addition to SUITS <3 and spend lovely nights with friends.

Jieun Lim (CC'14)

Jieun is currently a junior studying Political Science and EALAC at Columbia College. Though he is technically a second generation Korean American, he hopes to maintain the Korean side of his identity by studying the language and frequently visiting Korea. He is also a third generation Korean Japanese (though ethnically Korean) and strives to keep up his Japanese as well. In his free time, Jieun enjoys going to the gym and dancing.

Kimberly Hong (BC'15)

Kimberly was born and rasied in Queens, New York, growing up with Korean and American values simultaneously. She joined KSA in hopes of spreading Korean culture, as well as keeping in touch with her heritage. At Barnard, she intends to double major in Art History and Psychology, and aspires to become a curator at the MoMA one day. In her free time, she loves to loiter around the city while chatting with friends, but she also loves to take road trips outside of NYC, especially around the Hudson Valley. She also loves watching movies and basking in the sun with music and a good read.

Kelly Kang (BC'15)

Kelly was born and raised in California until she decided to rediscover her roots in Korea, attending an international school for six years in Seoul. After not joining her first year, Kelly became a part of KSA to get back in touch with a community that loved Korea as much as she did, and hopes to promote Korean culture in the best light possible. She plans on majoring in Political Science and minoring in English, and aspires to join the fight in abolishing human trafficking. Outside of KSA, Kelly enjoys having genuine conversations, walking around New York aimlessly, and Game of Thrones.

Interesting Fact: She discovered a dead body in the ocean shortly after taking the SAT.

SonYon (Sonny) Song (SEAS'15)

Sonny was born and raised in Daegu, South Korea until she moved to Port Washington, New York at a fairly young age of 10. Although she finds English more comfortable to speak, she is nevertheless a Korean at heart. She joined KSA in hopes of spreading the awesomeness of Korean culture with fun and caring people. At Columbia, she intends to major in Computer Science with a possible minor in Applied Mathematics, hoping to become a patent lawyer or a consultant of some sort. She is also an avid English Premier League spectator, specifically a Manchester United supporter (more specifically, Rooney and Vidic <3).

Fun Fact: She has a Daegu accent when she speaks Korean.

Jinny (Jee Soo) Yoo (SEAS'15)

Jinny was born in Korea, but lived six years each in Seoul, Houston, and LA…ish before leaving the best coast. She loves KSA, and the culture and history it represents, and especially values the manual labor that brings the KSA family together. She’s a sucker for poetry, jazz, dancing, thrifting, TV, yummy cheap food, and honesty.

Andrew Yu (CC'15)

Andrew was born in North Carolina but moved to Boston when he was 6. He was never really knowledgeable about Korean culture until he arrived at Columbia. Consequently, he decided to join KSA as a way to become more immersed in Korean culture and meet fellow Koreans. He intends to double major in Political Science and Philosophy. On the weekends, Andrew plays in a NY Korean Soccer League and enjoys pick-up basketball as well.

Fun Fact: He has performed at Carnegie Hall.
