Welcome back!
For the Korean Students Association here at Columbia University, the 2008-2009 school year brings an opportunity to build upon a foundation of years of student programming experience and revamp it to make it new and more upbeat. The KSA board members consist of students who have a passion for Korean culture, and throughout the year hope to share some of it with you through exciting event programming and cultural experiences. In addition to our mainstay events such as the Chusuk Dinner Celebration and the Annual KSA Culture Show, we aim to put forth a wide range of new events and offer new perspectives on what Korean culture is all about. We hope that you will join us throughout the year and take advantage of what KSA has to offer - and I should mention, many events are free (and most include food!) The basic premise of our organization remains the same - as a student organization, we are here to serve you, the everyday Columbia student. Our success stems directly from your involvement and interaction, so be sure to make yourself heard and let us know what you'd like to see - relevance to Korean culture is key, but we're open to all ideas and suggestions. And while it's important for us to facilitate the growth and interaction of the Columbia Korean community, we hope that we can impact the greater Columbia student body, and we invite everyone to take part in KSA this year. On behalf of the 2008-2009 KSA Executive Board, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to the class of 2012, and especially encourage all of you to build upon our organization. We're looking for equally motivated students to fill our Freshmen Rep. board positions, so look out for this opportunity in the beginning of the year. Join us in making this year a great one - check our website for upcoming events and uploaded media, and contact any of the board members if you have comments/suggestions or just want to say hello. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Your 2008-2009 KSA President, Eric Chong |
