Laila Hlass is a second-year student at Columbia Law School. As a Public Interest Law Fellow, Laila plans to use her law degree to advocate for people's constitutional and civil rights. Besides serving as webmaster and board member for IMPACT, Laila is on the Board of Columbia's Public Interest Law Foundation, which awards student fellowships and community organization grants. Before coming to Columbia, Laila spent two years working for Ralph Nader's Citizen Works, a citizen enpowerment organization. While at Citizen Works, she served as office manager, interim development director and webmaster. She graduated from Rice University in 2001 with a B.A. in History and Studio Art.
