The Journal is dedicated to the concept of "transnational law" as articulated by the late Philip C. Jessup, Judge of the International Court of Justice. "Transnational law" includes:

[A]ll the law which regulates actions or events that transcend National frontiers . . . . [I]t includes both civil and criminal aspects, what we know as public and private international law, and it includes national law both public and private . . . . Transnational situations . . . may involve individuals, corporations, states or other groups.
