ello and welcome to the Student Senate! Our primary responsibilities are to address the affairs of the Law School and promote the quality of student life. To these ends, Senators work with students to identify problems and develop solutions that advance our social and general welfare. Senators also maintain a dialogue with the faculty and administration to advocate student interests and implement programs that address student concerns.

The Senate is guided by an overarching desire to foster collegiality and collaboration among students by sponsoring a wide array of student organizations and events with proceeds from the student activity fee. Each year, the Senate allocates funding to all recognized student groups, coordinates orientation and graduation events, and oversees extracurricular affairs. Our goal is to serve you by making student life at Columbia Law School more rewarding and enjoyable.

Our updated Web site is part of an effort to ensure the Senate remains accessible to the student body and able to address student issues as they arise. We invite you to explore our site and to use it as a resource to help effect positive change at the Law School.
