Official Responsibilities

The Student Senate Treasurer serves as chief fiscal officer of the Senate. The Treasurer is also in charge of all Senate funds, however generated, and collects and distributes these funds only as authorized by vote of the Senate or Executive Board. The Treasurer keeps complete records of all financial transactions according to standard accounting principles and makes regular financial reports to the Senate, at least once per semester. The Treasurer is also chair of the Budget Committee. After officer elections, the incoming and outgoing Treasurers, with the advice of the outgoing Budget Committee, create standard budget allocation and appeal forms, and establish procedures for the Budget Committee in accordance the Senate By-Laws.

Biographical Sketch

Gillian Horton, CLS '11, is serving her second term as Student Senator. During her first term, Horton served as member of the Budget and Student Life and Social Activities Committees.
